তেতিয়া হন্ সিতাৰ জন্মই হোৱা নাছিল। হন্ সিতাৰ পেহীয়েকে কাম কৰিছিল ভাৰতীয় ৰে'ল বিভাগত। কাটিহাৰত কৰ্মসূত্ৰে থকা ভগ্নীৰ ঘৰলৈ গৈছিল শ্যামন্ত দাস সপৰিয়ালে। পুত্ৰ নিশান্ত, পত্নী সবিতা দেৱী দাসৰ বাবে আছিল সেই দিনকেইটা আনন্দ আৰু ফূৰ্তিৰ।
উভতিছিল তেওঁলোকে অবধ আসামত।ঘৰলৈ আহি থাকোতে নিশা প্ৰায় ১.৪৫ বজাত ঘটিছিল অঘটন।গাইসালত সংঘটিত হৈছিল একেটা ট্ৰেকেৰে আহি থকা দুখন ট্ৰেইনৰ মাজত সংঘৰ্ষ। ব্ৰহ্মপুত্ৰ মেইলৰ সৈতে হোৱা সংঘৰ্ষত আহত হৈছিল সেই পৰিয়ালটো।
মাতৃৰ বুকুত সোমাই প্ৰায় সুস্থ হৈয়েই আছিল ৩ বছৰ ৭ মহীয়া নিশান্ত। উদ্ধাৰ কৰাৰ পাছত চিকিৎসালয়লৈ নিয়া হৈছিল নিশান্তক। কিন্তু চিকিৎসালয়ৰ বিচনাৰ পৰা কোনোবাই লৈ গৈছিল শিশুটিক।
তাৰ পাছত পিতৃয়ে ক'ত বিচাৰিলে, কি কৰিলে সেয়া বহু অধ্যায়। সন্ধান পোৱা নাই নিশান্তৰ। পিতৃয়েও এৰা নাই আশা। পিতৃৰ এই চেষ্টাৰ সহযোগী হ'ব খুজিছিল হন্ সিতাও। নিশান্ত হেৰুওৱাৰ পিছত শ্যামন্ত দাস আৰু সবিতা দেৱী দাসৰ সংসাৰলৈ আহিছিল এই ছোৱালীজনী।
বৰ্তমান নৱম শ্ৰেণীৰ ছ্ত্ৰী হন্ সিতাই লিখিছে কিদৰে হেৰুওৱা ককায়েকক বিচাৰি ফুৰে দেউতাকে। মাকে প্ৰায়ে কয় ককায়েকৰ কথা। তায়ো ভাৱে- আজি যদি ককায়েক থাকিলহেঁতেন কিমান ডাঙৰ হ'ল হেঁতেন সি!

'Gaishal Tragedy:An emotional appeal from a heartbroken sister' শিৰোনামেৰে তাই লিখিছে –
''How can anyone forget the tragic accident of Gaishal! It is just like a black chapter in the history of Indian Railways. It was the fateful night of 2.8.1999 when Abodh Assam Express was collided with Brahmaputra Mail coming from the opposite direction at Gaishal.More than 280 people had died and nearly 600 passengers were injured in that tragic accident. Among those injured there were my father Mr Shyamanta Das,mother Mrs Sabita Devi Das and my beloved brother Nishanta. . My parents luckily survived but since than my brother Nishanta is still missing. This incident was more pathetic for me because i was not born at that time. Just like those fateful train tracks i am also running through the track of sorrows all these years after my birth carrying the image of my beloved brother in my heart.My parents still carrying that agony in their hearts. And i'm the most heartbroken sister who is longing for her brother whom i have never seen except in the photograph.In such an sad moment it is humble appeal from a heartbroken sister to all of you to kindly inform/contact us at Mobile numbers 09435043108/09435554063 or in the nearest Police Station if you have any information regarding the whereabout of my brother Nishanta. somebody may have adopt him as their son and they may not be willing to give back him. we also never want to hurt their emotions but like every human being my parents also waiting to see his face for last twenty years atleast for a moment like me.''

I write to your good self to express my concern and anguish over a heartbreaking story, published on Asomiya Pratidin Digital (www.asomiyapratidin.in) on the Gaisal train disaster.
For your kind concern, I would like to describe the story here briefly.
Shri Shyamanta Das and his wife Smt. Sabita Devi Das and their son Nishanta Das (Dudla) of New Guwahati were coming from Katihar to Guwahati by Avadh Assam Express on August 1st 1999. As there was a serious train disaster at Gaisal (West Bengal) on August 2nd 1999, both Shri Das and Smt. Das were seriously injured, but their son escaped unhurt. Mr. and Mrs. Das were given first aid by the relief workers at Gaisal accident site, where the son was also with them on August 2nd. 1999. From there they were taken to Islampur Civil Hospital. As the condition of both Mr. and Mrs. Das was critical, they were shifted to North Bengal Medical College Hospital at Siliguri leaving behind their son viz. Master Nishanta Das. Since then the child is missing from the Islampur Relief Camp from August 2nd. 1999. The victim family wrote to the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the matter was enquired by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at various places including the Hospitals and with various voluntary organisations. Wide publicity through Newspaper and Doordarshan was made for obtaining the information regarding the child The District Magistrate, Raiganj was also contacted but there was no information about the child. However, all concerned have been directed by Superintendent of Police (GRP), Siliguri to trace out the missing Nishanta Das. Even, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee in her tenure also separately requested the Home Minister to suitably advise the State Government of West Bengal to render all necessary assistance in this matter.
As the matter had already been enquired by various government departments; hence, your organization can go for a successful campaign in this case. The family is still waiting for their son to return, I request you to help to the family in this regard.
